Competition information – Memo


Participants are not permitted to bring along umbrellas, poles, prams, dogs, etc. for the race.

Start 21K, Forshaga 10.30

The start time for the RUN 21K race is 10:30 on Saturday from Forshaga Lärcenter. Participants have access to the starting area from 10:00. Communal warm-up activities will take place in the starting area.

Start 7,5K, Edsgatan 11.30

The start time for the RUN 7,5K race is 11:30 on Saturday from Edsgatan. Participants have access to the starting area from 11:15. Participants will be started off in groups of no more than 20. The groups will be started at timed intervals and will be merged with the rest of the starting field that set off from Forshaga. Timekeeping will start once each runner crosses the starting line. Communal warm-up activities will take place in the starting area.

Time limit

Participants must complete RUN 21K in a time limit of 2:45 and RUN 7,5K in a time limit of 1:45. A minibus will follow behind the field at the appropriate pace and pick up any runners who fall behind the required pace. The BIKE 90K field will be setting off at 12:00 and they are expected to reach the finishing line in Karlstad around 13:45, so the RUN field must be over the finishing line by 13:15.

The course

The course runs along a former railway embankment and is totally car-free with no steep climbs, so you simply need to find your pace and relax into it. If weather conditions are kind, we could see a lot of personal bests. The course measurements have been checked by certified course measurers from Svenska Friidrottsförbundet (Swedish Athletics Association) and the race is sanctioned. View course route >

  • Lyckås 6,9 km
  • Edsgatan 13,6 km (Start RUN 7,5K)
  • Kroppkärrssjön 18,9 km (5,3 km)

The selection on offer at the refreshment stations is water and sports drinks. Bananas, rolls and chocolate are also available at the finish.

21 km running race with timekeeping.

We follow SFIF’s guidelines for category division and will report results in the following categories. Participants must actively opt to have their results reported by age category. Otherwise they will be included in Kseniorer (Women seniors) or Mseniorer (Men seniors).

All runners have an individual data chip worn at the ankle. Racing numbers and data chips can be collected at the following locations and times:

Last-minute registration and change of name

Last-minute registration and change of name for participants is possible up until collection of racing numbers closes. NB! Payment is only possible by card or swish.

Buses to the start

In Run 7,5K bus transport is included from the finish in Karlstad to the start in Edsgatan.

For those who have booked bus transport for Run 21K, buses will depart from the finishing area on Museigatan in Karlstad to Forshaga Lärcenter. You can find out more about the buses and departure times here. here.

Transport of bags to finishing point

For transport of bags to the finishing point in Karlstad, bags must be deposited at the designated location in the starting area.

Medical services – accidents

Medical staff in the form of nurses with medical packs will be stationed at the start and finish and at the refreshment stations. Participants who become aware that a fellow competitor needs medical attention should inform the nearest official and/or call the event medical coordinator on +46 (0)72-7337285. In an emergency, call 112!

Dropping out of the race

Competitors who drop out can travel with the support minibus to the nearest refreshment station and get bus transport from there to the finish in Karlstad.  In order to contact the support vehicle, call +46 (0)72-5877849.

NB! Your data chip must be handed over to the medical staff at the refreshment station.

Handing in of data chips

Data chips must be handed in at the designated location immediately after the finish. Participants will be charged for any unreturned data chips.

Showers & changing facilities

Showers and changing facilities are available a short bus ride from the finishing area.

Results & victory ceremony

Results will be published on

All participants will receive a medal immediately after the finish. A victory ceremony for the top three in the RUN 21K event (men and women) will take place at around 12:30 in Museiparken.

After race
